Change in Physics: What’s Going On?

Recent discoveries reveal that the physics surrounding these yellow paddles have been significantly altered. Now, players can’t interact with them while on foot, effectively keeping our characters from experiencing that satisfying contact when they brush along the roadside. Previously, hitting these paddles at a slower speed would cause them to bounce right back, just like they did in GTA V. What a thrill! But now, they simply break off their hinges no matter how fast you’re going. It’s a real bummer for anyone who enjoyed a little chaos while cruising.

Twitter user Lucas7yoshi was the first to highlight this shocking revelation, noting how the paddles used to tilt and hinge. “They don’t bounce back anymore; they just crumble,” he said, giving a nod to the lost joy of those random drives around the map. With GTA 6 still on the horizon and everyone eagerly waiting for more info, it’s puzzling whether this change was an unintentional side effect of the update or something Rockstar planned. Either way, the community is buzzing about it!

What Will Rockstar Do About It?

With Rockstar tightening their focus on launching GTA 6 in Fall of 2025, it’s highly unlikely that they will allocate resources to deal with this seemingly minor bug related to the paddles. Fans are starting to express their frustration, like user Chris, who stated, “It was so fun when you’d do the random drive around the map,” while others lamented, “Where’s the fun of driving if these paddles are now broken?”

Although the Bottom Dollar Bounties update brought in new vehicles and missions new bounty-hunting dynamics on the roster the frustration with the paddles appears to shatter some of the gameplay charm. So as much as we’re diving into the latest content, we can’t help but feel a bit of nostalgia for the simplicity of our interactions with these in-game elements.

As we continue our adventures in GTA Online, let’s appreciate the wild ride its updates bring, but don’t forget to voice your thoughts to Rockstar. Who knows, one day we might see these yellow paddle physics patched and returned to their former glory?
